In 1979 Diana Ross scored a huge disco hit with "The Boss," causing many of her fans to kind of misguidedly give HER that nickname (the song is really about the fact that LOVE is the actually, which the singer humbly realizes.)
"The Boss" has been remixed before, but this new version by Eric Kupper stays very true to the original, with much of the original background music in tact, but freshened up for a new generation.
While not one her bigger pop hits, the song reached #1 in the Dance Chart in Billboard in its original release, and this new remix has brought the song back up to the top of the chart 40 years later.
This helps her set a Dance Chart record, as this is her fourth remix in a row to top it. Studio rats love to remix her stuff, and "The Boss 2019" follows a remix mashup of "I'm Coming Out" and "Upside Down," last year, and a 2017 remix of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."
